Mellow My Man

I give you a playlist of mellifluous soul, hip-hop and rare groove. The kind that should let you luxuriate In a Blanket of Soul and serenely handle mental patients that accost you on the local bus. With this kind of soundtrack playing in your ears, everything becomes easy, trust me on this one. Think of it as the kind of thing that lifts the mood during the barbecue and makes everyone start bumping and grinding to the sounds of Maze's Joy and Pain. I've written about some of these songs and will annotate them in due course. For now fire up your tool of choice, download (or purchase) as the case may be and enjoy these songs, 9 hours of mellow madness. If you pop around my way, I'll be sure to burn you a cd. The one quirk is that although the title of the playlist references The Roots's Mellow My Man, that track somehow didn't make it onto the original cd that I burnt. Thank goodness for streaming services, the original conception is available.
