Kente Order

We would like 2 cloths made from only three colors of thread:

The cloths should be mostly white with the other two colors for accents. The cloth should be pure cotton? (Definitely shouldn't be rayon or any synthethic- sometimes what is called "silk" is actually not the real thing)

1) Abena's cloth (unassembled strips) (completed by July 20?)

Each strip should alternate full white rectangles with striped bars using blue, white and green thread. Coloured stripes should run vertically as shown below (I think this is possible even if the loom is strung with white thread)
The top and bottom ends of strip should have 4 rectangles with more elaborate diamond pattern:

Diamond|  WHITE  | stripe | WHITE | stripe| WHITE...|Diamond

Size of strip: 4 1/2 inches wide by 80 inches
Number of strips: 20

This is my best estimate looking at kente I already own- this is more strips
than usually used for a women's cloth, but I would like to make the dress shown
in the previous email plus have leftover for a stole. I am five feet five inches
tall and 34 inch bust/ 38 inch hip so might check with Hannah in North Kaneshie
if she is the one to sew it for advice. If anything, perhaps the diamond
pattern should only be on one end and the strips should be shorter???

2) Koranteng's cloth

Strips should be sewn together. The same colors should be used: Mostly White
with blue and green accents. I think it should be mostly simple blocks of color
but more diamonds and variations might work.

A full piece: standard size cloth for tall man 6 ft 1?

Note again: we want mostly white thread.

For the attendants, I was thinking of matching the green for the women in cotton bazin and blue bazin for the men.

Hopefully, we can buy those cloths right away and have the 3 bridesmaid dresses and 3 groomsmen outfits sewn during the three weeks Abena is there (July 23 - August 16). Between your family and Dk we should be able to start the ball rolling before Masi and I arrive.
